Description

Modernista takes inspiration from the architecture of São Paulo, where modernism found expression through the pioneering works of architects Lina Bo Bardi and Oscar Niemeyer. The Modernistia collection follows a strict geometric framework based around the rectangle, within which subtle forms and exacting proportions are explored.

There are two versions of this design. Modernista has a sense of formal precision, staying close to its architectural references. Casa Modernista, conceived for the home, opens itself to relaxation and spontaneity: the cushions lose stiffness, the seating becomes deeper and more welcoming, and the lines soften.

CONTINUITY OF FORM

A subtle but important detail: the fabric panel of Modernista’s backside wraps around the arms to create a single volume. The softness is accentuated by a minimal use of buttons.
