Textile

Description

A distinct curtain textile for Kvadrat, Rocket is a knitted curtain with a playful, contemporary aesthetic inspired by hard and textured architectural surfaces. With a knitted construction and balanced colour scheme, Rocket brings a novel approach to interior textiles. The design features a chainmail-like pattern of oval spaces constructed with a warp knit, resulting in a firmer construction than conventionally knitted fabrics.

“We wanted to create technical fabrics but with soft architectural colours,” explains the studio. “We researched Le Corbusier’s tapestries and paintings in the city of Chandigarh and were inspired by the brightly coloured buildings that faded in the sun over time, making the colours dusty.”
