Time Capsule was created for Wallpaper Magazine’s Handmade series, launched during the 2017 Salone del Mobile. The project emerged from Wallpaper’s annual invitation for studios to collaborate with specialist makers on one-off pieces that explore craft, material and process.

Conceived as an object linked to the ritual of dressing up, Time Capsule is a clutch case designed to hold precious items. The piece is made from the same Italian acetate, hinges and rivets used in the production of Cutler and Gross spectacles, drawing directly from the materials and techniques of eyewear making. Two circular peepholes on the surface recall the early stage of cutting lenses from acetate and allow you to keep an eye on your phone while it rests inside.
